Dear Hetty,
We knew Mitch via the Arlington Heights Current Events discussion group. Mitch was kind, intelligent, and knowledgeable. His contributions were always thoughtful. Even when he disagreed, his responses gave the group new insight. We think of him often. No one will ever fill the chair he usually sat in. We will miss him greatly.

We are so sorry that we missed his funeral as we were out-of-town. I understand the St. Louis rabbi who officiated was the same wonderful rabbi loved by Roy’s sister. “May his memory be a blessing.”

My sympathies to the Bers family. I remember that Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Bill (the youngest child of 11) were very nice to me

Mitch was an excellent Assistant Principal @ Holmes Jr. High when I was the counselor. He was exceptionally fair-minded and concerned about our students. Then he became Superintendent at Medinah and I had the opportunity as a parent to see what a great school district with high standards he led! It was a privilege to work and know him. . . My sympathy to all family members.

Mitch was a fellow Superintendent in Du Page County. I was in Darien,District #61. Mitch was always welcoming, especially to a new superintendent. He was kind and open about sharing ideas and thoughts. He made me feel very welcome. He also was a great golfing partner and we enjoyed many stories on the course. He will be missed by many! Chip
